As a Battery Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the development process of batteries, from concept to qualification. We are seeking a high-energy individual, motivated to learn and resourceful. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge in of all cell components: cathodes, anodes, electrolytes, separators and collectors. The position will cover management of all facets of cell development, testing and analysis. The candidate will apply their battery expertise in the management of battery research, in developing and conducting battery research activity, and in supporting the application of battery technology.


  • Develop and optimize battery building process from slurry formulation to curing and cell-building
  • Design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze electrochemical and physiochemical data to understand factors affecting battery performance for various market needs
  • Resolve key technical issues, monitor and track KPI progress, manage risks and implement root cause analysis for solving critical issues
  • Implement intricate and data-driven strategies to improve cell performance
  • Manage, mentor and lead team of capable engineers and technicians


  • Master’s degree in Materials Engineering or related field of study (Ph.D. preferred)
  • 5+ years’ industry experience developing Li-ion cell technologies
  • U.S. Citizenship due to ITAR restrictions are preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Strong management and team-building skills
  • Ability to analyze and make data-driven decisions based on experimental data theoretical knowledge
  • Strong ability to communicate scientific problems and solutions clearly and concisely
  • Attention to detail, ability to work well individually and in team settings


  • Able to adapt work schedule as needed by the team to achieve operations targets
  • Able to lift, push or pull up to 20 lbs
  • Able to work in a laboratory using glove boxes and fume hoods
  • Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection every day
  • Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
  • Repetitive use of hands - light to forceful handling of material
